This past Saturday in Irving, NY, Gladius Fights held its inaugural card. The event is significant because professional MMA is outlawed in New York; however, this event was held on an Indian reservation, which is considered a sovereign nation, and not subject to the laws of the state. By all accounts, the event was a success, with 10 pro and 2 amateur fights. Props to Ryan Ciotoli of Team Bombsquad for promoting the event and Lucin Colakoglu for her public relations prowess.
